Iridology is the science of analysing the iris (the coloured part of the eye) in order to determine the condition of the organs and bodily tissue. It is a gentle, practical, and non-invasive method of assessing one's state of health and of indicating what kind of steps should be taken in order to restore & optimize health.
The eye is an indispensable chart showing us the blue prints of our inherited constitution. The iris reveals our past injuries and illnesses, our current condition, and also our future potential. As such, iridology is considered the supreme method of prevention, as a disposition towards particular conditions or diseases can be detected before symptoms even occur. The iridologist will then recommend various natural treatments and lifestyle changes to promote the body's natural ability to heal itself and to maintain wellbeing.
By analysing the iris under magnification and observing the markings, colours, fibre condition and structural deviations in the corresponding reflex areas, one can see:
Constitutional strengths & weaknesses
The presence and stage of inflammation
Toxicity, drug accumulation, & acidity levels
Nutritional deficiencies
Inherited conditions
Past, present, and future conditions
Environmental & emotional strain
Degeneration, congestion, pain
Condition of the organs, glands and systems and their effect on each other
Response to treatment
The initial consultation takes about 1½ hours. First, a series of digital images is taken of the patient's eyes using a customized, high-resolution (15.1 MP) Digital SLR camera with a macro lens and fibre optic lighting. The patient comfortably rests their chin and forehead upon a customized stand while several photos are taken of the irises and sclera.
Next, the iridologist will display the images on a computer screen and go over each photo with the patient to outline genetic strengths and weakness, as well as potential toxic accumulations. The practitioner will then proceed with a comprehensive health assessment. The intake form will be reviewed in detail in order to determine the patient's dietary/lifestyle habits, past and present medical history and other symptoms or health concerns.
After the consultation, the iridologist will examine the photos in greater depth with the help of a specialized software program, which enables the iridologist to magnify parts of the iris for detailed observation; digitally scan the iris for degeneration patterns; overlay Iridology charts for precise analysis; record patient details; and track changes in the irises/sclera over time. Once the analysis is complete, a full report and health plan will be prepared and reviewed in the follow-up session.
The treatment process involves gradually integrating nutritional guidelines, herbal medicine, natural supplements, and healing therapies specifically tailored to individual needs as part of a comprehensive health plan. Wellness coaching sessions focused on natural self-care methods (i.e., Ayurvedic healing), emotional health and stress management, lifestyle counselling, and/or other therapies, provide the tools and knowledge essential in laying the foundation of health. In this way, the patient is empowered, becoming a student of life's most vital teachings: the causes of illness and suffering, and the causes of health and happiness. Throughout this journey, gentle, skilful guidance is provided to support the essential changes required to restore health and to promote optimal vitality.
The treatment program is designed to deal with the whole body and all of its systems, rather than treating the ailment or disease alone, which can be misleading and ineffective. Furthermore, it approaches healing from the six main roots of health – rather than focusing solely on one modality or merely on the physical body – thereby providing the patient with the necessary foundation for true health and happiness. This process consists of an initial assessment, a follow-up consultation (focused on reviewing the iridology report and customized health plan), as well as subsequent sessions as needed. Follow-up sessions focus on identifying changes in the iris and sclera, reviewing successes or difficulties in integrating health recommendations, modifying the health plan to accommodate changing needs, deepening self-awareness, and developing knowledge and tools that are essential for wellbeing.
